Papillon dog breed

Papillon descriptions

Papillon are companion dogs, and the family pet in many homes.

The papillon comes across as a very intelligent breed. The dog thrives best when doing tasks that involve mental challenges.

Papillons sheds, but less than many other breeds. Daily grooming of the coat contributes to the dog's well-being.

Papillon responds well at obedience training, and are often very easy to train with. Certainly, there is considerable variation between individual dogs, and more so than than the variation between one breed to the other. The breed dog are often focused in what it is doing, and easy to deal with. Although there are breeds that are characterized as even more energetic, this is still a breed that requires his daily walks. The breed dog demands some exercise, although there are other breeds that require more ventilation of their owners.

Some dogs can be a bit reserved and skeptical strangers, but there exists considerable variation within the breed. Although aggression toward other dogs is not characteristic of the breed, such individual characteristics occur. The breed is considered child friendly but generalization here can be adversely. Small children and dogs should never be left alone together! There is no such thing as a children-friendly dog, adult supervision is always recommended. This breed bears little resemblance to the strong predatory instincts of their distant ancestor, namely the wolf.

The breed is not suited to extreme cold, but can still be kept in colder regions if they wear extra clothing on cold days. If you are looking for breeds that enjoys fun activities and games, you can add this one to your list. They do have a tendency to stay close to their owners, and a papillon should display little or no lust to run away. It has been mentioned that being home alone can be difficult with this breed, but can also be more individually contingent than breed dependent. Whlie it is possible to keep these dogs in an apartment, it is not the ideal for this breed.
