The manchester terrier comes across as a rather bright breed. The dog thrives best when doing tasks that involve mental challenges.

Good to know about the dog type: The manchester terrier originates from England. The dog type is a comparatively very popular and there is still someone who advertises puppies for sale. Manchester Terriers were initially bred for hunting vermin and small game.

Manchester Terrier classification: American Kennel Club places the dog type in the group «terriers». United Kennel Club files the dog type in the category «terrier». Manchester Terrier has been catalogued with FCI and their list of dog breeds as #71 in section «Large and midsized Terriers» (3.1) in the group «terriers» (registered 1987-06-24). Also recognized by the Canadian Kennel as «terriers».
