Grouping: American Kennel Club places the breed in the group «hounds». United Kennel Club files the breed in the category «scenthound». Dachshund is even included in International Federation of Kennel Clubs and their directory as #148 in section «dachsdogs» (4.1) in the group «dachshunds» (registered 2001-03-13). Also recognized by the Canadian Kennel as «hounds».
