The chihuahua dog should be a pleasure to to train with, but individual differences in the type of breed is expected. Chihuahuas can be vigilant and often excellent in dressage. The breed appreciate training, but are not as demanding as many other breeds.

More about the dog: The chihuahua were first bred in Mexico. Life span will vary, but anything from 15 to 18 years is normal. The breed is highly popular and easy to find in classified ads and even in animal shops. Chihuahuas were initially bred for companionship. Chihuahuas are also called chihuahueño, smooth-haired chihuahua, long-haired chihuahua, chiwawa.

Chihuahua group: American Kennel Club places the breed in the group «toy dogs». United Kennel Club files the breed in the category «Companion dog». Chihuahua have been approved by International Federation of Kennel Clubs and their dog breed list as #218 in section «chihuahua dogs» (9.6) in the group «companion and toy dogs» (registered 2004-03-24). Also recognized by the Canadian Kennel as «toy dogs».
