Bedlington Terrier have been used as a fighting dog (unfortunately), although from the beginning had other legitimate use tasks. USA, Canada, UK and most other countries fortunately ban organized dog fights today.

This breed are characterized by high IQ compared to many other breeds. Mental exercise should therefore be included in the daily activities.

The breed is a hypoallergenic dog breed. However, please note that there is no documented research on this, and that all dogs regardless of breed can cause allergic reactions! Many dogs sheds a lot, but this is not something that can be claimed onbedlington terrier. Although frequent grooming is not strictly necessary, it contributes to the dog's overall well-being and prosperity.

Bedlington Terriers respond well to obedience training, which is why they are descirbed as a breed which is easy to deal with (albeit all dogs are different). The breed are often focused in what it is doing, and easy to deal with. Although there are breeds that are characterized as even more energetic, this is still a breed that requires his daily walks. The breed have a great need for exercise, it will be best if the person responsible for the dog are active as well.

This dog breed is by nature very easygoing with people outside the family, but large variations occur between dogs anyway. Aggression between dogs occurs in all breeds, but is perhaps a slightly greater tendency among bedlington terrier than many other breeds. The breed is considered as one of the more kid-friendly dog breeds, but do not forget: Small children and dogs should never be left alone together! There is no such thing as a children-friendly dog, adult supervision is always recommended. As distant descendants of the wolf this breed still have some strong instincts. Certain breeds tend to bite and nip, but bedlington terrier is not known for this.

This is a robust dog that can tolerate cold and low temperatures nice and thrive winter and summer.

Bedlington terrier appearance: A bedlington terrier is a medium-sized breed, medium-length coat, with an average physique, standing ears, comparatively long legs, very short hanging tail, and a pleasant expression.

Health: The health problems for bedlington terriers varies and varies between individuals. Well-known health problems are PRA, cataracts, kidney disease, hypothyroidism, otherwise common disorders and other general common diseases in dogs.
